Pune Chapters' April 8th Function-A Note

The Pune chapter of the World Zarthushti Chamber of Commerce -India held it's first Member's meet on 8th April at the Chambers III of Hotel Regency with a lively gathering of over 40 participants, which included a fair representation from the ladies as also the younger entrepreneurs and professionals.

Addressing the participants, the Chapter President- Adi Engineer emphasized the importance of re-vitalizing the entrepreneurial role that the community had been famed for in the past. With active participation of the members, be the established players or budding aspirants, the chapter could become the growth engine for Zarthushti enterprise. The chapter secretary Kerman Kasad gave a power point presentation on the objectives and role of WZCCI after which the members were engaged in a lively discussion on the action plan for the Pune Chapter. The gathering represented a good cross-section of Pune businessmen and professionals like Noshir Kamdin MD-Thysin Krupp, Dara Irani President Pune Parsi Panchayet, Bomi Bhote CEO-Grant Medical Foundation, Pesi Anklesaria - Penosh Transport and many others covering Manufacturing, Information Technology, Architectural and Construction sectors.

Summarizing the outcome of the discussion Themas Bharucha-the chapter treasurer, high-lighted the salient points as, preparing a Data-Bank of members, reaching out to more Zarthushtis especially young entrepreneur and professional who could gain from these activities, and most importantly a focus on developing and encouraging young entrepreneurs.

Members came forward to volunteer in joining the sub-committees to pursue the action-plan and present progress in the next meeting. Two Young entrepreneurs identified, would also be show-casing their business in the next meeting giving them opportunity to network and as also obtain mentoring support.

After a hearty vote of thanks to all who had made the chapter activity successful and to Kariman Karkaria of Hotel Regency for making excellent arrangements, the participants continued fellowship over cocktails and dinner. The start augurs well for Pune Chapters future activity.
