Report of Mumbai Chapter Meeting held on 13th June 2004 at Diplomat Hotel

The Mumbai Chapter of WZCCI (World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce - India) organized a meeting at Diplomat Hotel on 13th June, with Mr. Nariman Mogrelia, Chairman & M.D. of Zoro Garments, Chennai, as Chief Guest.

In his Welcome Address, Mr. Kersi Limathwala, Mumbai Chapter Chair, listed the achievements of the Chapter in the last few months and gave concrete examples of how networking had helped expand the businesses of several members. Quite a few of these success stories came into being for members who recently joined our Trade Delegation to Dubai. In a lighter vein, he said that a year ago Mr. Areez Khambatta of Ahmedabad had addressed our members and he has now been instrumental in the formation of a Chapter at Ahmedabad. Similarly, he hoped that after that evening's address by Mr. Nariman Mogrelia of Chennai, a Chapter would be established, with his help, at Chennai!

Mr. Minoo Shroff, All India President of WZCC, gave a very lucid introduction of Mr. Nariman Mogrelia, who is a successful exporter of garments and is also President of the Madras Parsi Zarathushti Anjuman.

In his Keynote Address on "Ingredients for a Successful Businessman", Mr. Mogrelia took the audience through the early stages of his own career and with concrete examples emphasized on the following points:

• Success comes to those who dare to act
• Self-confidence
• The ability to speak with confidence
• Honesty
• Being focused
• Recognize a good opportunity and grab it
• Good luck and hard work

Mr. Yazdi Tantra, Secretary of the Mumbai Chapter and administrator of our worldwide website, then gave a demonstration of the updated website. He took the audience through every single step and showed them how they could network with other entrepreneurs through the WZCC website. 674 members of this Chamber, located in different parts of the world, are already listed on the website, with full details of their business, contact information, etc.

The meeting terminated with a Vote of Thanks by the Programme Committee Chair, Mrs. Zarine Commissariat.
